Who's afraid of the big bad wolf? Apparently not Legit Security's clients, employees, owners, managers or it's "Chief" Joe Stidham. Does anyone think that is a good idea for a guy who plead guilty to a felony to be President of a security company? I know you think I am kidding so look at the court case where Gil Baca III (G3) plead guilty to a felony! Download blog-gilbacaIII.pdf
OK- some housekeeping first. I've been told by his employees that "G3" has told his employees, clients and the public that he is a former BCSO Deputy. This is complete BS. Not BSCO. BS. His extensive "career" in law enforcement ended. That's it. No frills. He spins tales of a glorious career in law enforcement but it is a joke. Look at his web site to see for yourself. In case it doesn't load click here.
OK. Here are some facts behind the illustrious Gilbert Baca. He has been evicted numerous (check NM Courts for history) from houses and apartments. Has worked for two security companies where he was fired by his father, starting other security companies. For some strange and unexplained reason, many or most of the clients of the first security company's clients (where Dad- G2- worked) ended up at the company that G3 started...Some call it luck. Professional criminal investigators call it stupid. G3 and G2 end up with permanent injunctions preventing them from owning or operating security companies in various states...
They do it again... G2 is hired to manage an out of state company. He hires G3, of course. They gain some contracts using the good name, insurance, funding and marketing of the out of state company. G3 starts stealing. G2 fires him. He is really mad at him. Or is he? G2 is said to be pursuing him criminally and civilly. Somehow many of the clients of the out of state company end up with Legit Security. Gil Baca III (G3) President. I love the name of the new firm. G3 has a new partner, the Chief of Bosque Farms Police Department, Joe Stidham. They both get sued for stealing, fraud and other bad stuff from the out of state company. Bad deal but it doesn't stop the new company, Legit Security, from growing rapidly. G2 resigns from the out of state company. He qualifies for the next generation in security companies--"G1 Security!" G1 Security doesn't seem to be doing any business. It sits just idle, needing some business....
I hope you are wearing boots because it is going to get deep! The out of state company is owed money for crimes that G3 committed. Legit (and its owners- G3 and Stidham) discuss settlement with the out of state company. I think that Legit offers a number of let's say...$30,000 to settle. It can't find the money. Now enters G2, to his son's aid. G2 petitions the New Mexico Crime Stopper's organization and states that his son (G3) has cancer and needs treatment. If he only had $30,000 he could receive the cancer fighting treatment that he needs to live.... The Crime Stoppers Board is filled with smart cops and they see through the scheme. They deny G2's request. You have to admit- it was a good try...
In the meantime...Legit is behind on paying its employees by 4-6 weeks of back pay. They are bouncing payroll checks and their employees are suffering. Legit holds a company meeting last night... G3 gives a speech and announces his retirement from the company, or does he??, and states that he has "heart problems." I don't know if "not having a heart is a real problem-" personally. But this is what he says. Employees yell, scream and many quit on the spot. Complaints are filed with DOL, WC and other agencies. Legit does make the proclamation that it is going to take the company to a "nationwide status." Don't forget about the "big bad wolf" fairy tale. I was told all of this by Legit Security employees.
In the end... Legit is passing off forged documents to its clients (yea- don't worry about law enforcement- they know). They ignored the Worker's Compensation Administration (I talk to them too). They have a Department of Labor judgement, with more pending and hordes of pissed off employees or former employees. Let's not forget the $15,000 Nextel bill (how do I find this stuff out?!).
Legit wants you to think that Gil Baca III (G3) doesn't have involvement with the company. "Deputy Chief" Manny Sierra (Vice President of Legit Security effective 12-10-07) has taken G3's place. Don't believe the hype. G3 is the only person dealing with the RLD complaints, WC complaints and other state agencies pursuing Legit Security(I talk to all of them- believe me...) Why is Manny Sierra Standing next to a new car purchased when Legit owes its employees thousands of dollars in wages? Actually there are three new vehicles. The employees tell me that they still see G3 in the office and meeting with clients on a regular basis.
And coming soon to a theater near you.... I can't tell you the ending. It will spoil the story.
(Who is that guy in the bottom surveillance picture?)

Go getum Robb! You have to write a book about this stuff. It is priceless! People will buy a book just for the entertainment value of catching bad guys "dead in their tracks."
G3 seems like a scumbag.
